We work tirelessly to make sure health insurance companies cover best practice treatments for Lyme Disease patients, enabling them to access proper care without the financial burden.
Educating and Supporting PA Legislators
We actively engage in educating and supporting Pennsylvania legislators who will help us achieve our goals and bring about the necessary changes in Lyme Disease treatment and coverage.

Each year, the Pennsylvania State House and Senate pass bipartisan legislation supporting our mission. However, the legislation is consistently stalled in the Banking and Insurance Senate Committee. Our goal is to break through this barrier and secure proper medical treatment for all Lyme Disease patients in Pennsylvania.

Lyme Disease is a rapidly growing issue in Pennsylvania, affecting all 67 counties. The actual number of affected individuals is likely much higher due to underreporting and misdiagnosis. We must educate our state legislators about the physical, mental, and financial impact of Lyme Disease on patients and their families. Raising awareness about the various symptoms and complications associated with the disease is crucial for enacting meaningful change.

Patients seeking proper diagnosis and treatment often face a complex and frustrating healthcare system. Delays in diagnosis and treatment can lead to chronic Lyme Disease, which is even more difficult to manage and may have long-lasting consequences on a patient’s quality of life. The Lyme Disease Alliance of Pennsylvania PAC is dedicated to advocating for better access to care, promoting insurance coverage for necessary treatments, and supporting research to advance our understanding of this complex illness. By working together with legislators, healthcare providers, and the community, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by Lyme Disease and help prevent its further spread.

The Lyme Disease Alliance of Pennsylvania PAC is committed to addressing two critical issues faced by Lyme Disease patients in our state. Our primary focus is on expanding treatment options for patients whose symptoms persist after initial antibiotic treatment. Additionally, we are dedicated to working on the secondary issue of securing insurance coverage for necessary blood work and medical interventions, which are currently not covered by most insurance providers.
